Penang, Street Art, Chew Jetty, Food

Just finished doing my 80 pages report for my project.
So here I am updating this space before I forget all about the trip :D

This post is a picture heavy post.

I went to Penang last week with a couple of friends because we joined Penang Marathon 2012. To be exact, we didn't join the marathon, just the fun run for the fun of it and escape from UTP hecticness for a while on 17-18th November. This semester is crazy. The FYP2 work load is crazy and yes, I developed an Android application (game) for my final year project.

So yea, we stay in Tunes Hotel, Penang for 2 days and 1 night. Penang was totally crowded that weekend with people coming from all over the places! But we certainly had fun :D

Dropped by Bukit Mertajam to have some food before heading to the island.

Pasembor @ Sentosa, Bukit Mertajam RM3/4 I can't  remember exactly.

Yam rice @ Sentosa, Bukit Mertajam RM4.50 per portion.

Fried fritters below are sold in a stall along the road to Jetty. Highly recommended! Their turnover is really high so the fritters are all still hot and fresh. Super crispy and yummy !

We bought one of each. Super yums! Craving for it again hahahaa

Opposite the stall there is this lorry that sells shaved ice ! On the blazing hot weather that day, how could we miss to have some icey cold shaved ice?! hehe Don't be shocked if you saw a lot of flies look alike bugs flying around the stall. They are actually bees. We were turned off by it at first but after having a closer look, nah it is just some bees.

After the fritters and shaved ice, we walk a bit more to visit Chew jetty ! A lot of lovely spots to take pictures. Its like Kampung air in Kota Kinabalu but this one they really furnished and commercialized it so it is really nice.

Art on one of the houses ! Awesome isn't it? Better go fast before all of the street art fades.

My friends and I :D

After that, we head to Georgetown for more street arts !
Definitely in love with the buildings there :)
We just park our car one area and walk around because it is kinda hard to find parking plus it is not that far to walk from one art to another though we spend nearly 2 hours in that area. hahaha

Had tong yuen at Bee Hong directly in front of First Avenue.

and we had dinner in Sungai Pinang Food Court. It is just beside the road and have lots of lights.
Won't be hard to spot it. The grilled seafood there are highly recommended! Plus there are alot of other choices there too. :) there is always something for everyone.
My favourite was the BBQ squid.Yummmmm
We ordered squid, brinjal, lala and grilled sting ray and the bill came to about RM80. We shared among 10 person. Ordered a 5 person portion.

Honey chicken wings RM2 each.

Brinjal.

Sting ray. The sauce is the bomb !

prawn mee.

kuey teow soup

Kam heong lala

After that we went back to hotel to snooze off before the run the next day.
We only had like less than 5 hours of sleep despite the eventful day. haha
Of course we went for the run. so must show some picture as proof :D

We went to Bukit Genting for brunch after the run and clean up. There is a Thailand seafood restaurant up there.
The roads up are really windy but the view is worth it. We are at the state where we couldn't differentiate between the sea and skies because all of them are so blue.
The food are super yums and cheap too. We paid like RM18 each per person and we were in a group of 10 people.

Hi.

Fried kangkung that tasted like fried seaweed that we have during Chinese New Year.

Kerabu squid I love.
